Day Two:

Update: Day two.

Carter is doing wonderful! he is off the c-pap machine and strickly on a nasial machine now, he really isn't useing it but they are keeping it on him because at 28 weeks sometimes he will just stop breathing for a minute, which is normal. He has a pick-line placed now, and has gotten rid of the lines that were in his belly button. He started his feeds today and got two meals down! He got breast milk and what they call liquid steak and potatoes, which is just a ton of high fat stuff to help him grow and become strong!

This picture was taken last night, day 1, It just amazes me every time I see him, just how small he really is!

These picture are from this morning, we got to go see him and I got to touch him, get his temp, and even change his diaper! He doesn't liked being touched at all and whimpers the whole time but did great and it was so wonderful to be able to be that close to him. I'm sure that over time I will get over the feeling of worrying if i'm going to hurt or break him.

*He has a binky, it's so small and he loves it! They dip the tip of it in a liquid called 'Toot sweet', it's just basically sugar water and it's a big treat for him!
*He hasn't pooped yet but pees a lot, which I know is something you all wanted to hear about, but oh well.
*He likes having his hands up by his face, it sooths him.
*He is now under Belly Reuben light for Jaundice. He will be under the lights for a few hours every day for a few weeks. This just helps his liver kick into full gear.
*He doesn't like loud noises or sounds
*He like to have his hands up by him face, it smoothes him.
*He is a fighter, and continues to do well every time we see him.
*He gets a little testy when he doesn't want to do things.
*He loves to stretch out his hands and feet and does so all the time.

Over all Carter is doing wonderful and we continue to be amazed by all the 'little' things he does!
We are hopeful for all the new things that will come our way in the next few days.
I get to go home tomorrow, and I’m dying inside and outside to have to leave him here but I know that he is in the best hands possible and will be great.

thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers, please keep them coming on our behalf!

Love Always,
Mike. Megan. Carter

I've been thinking about you and your baby. Thanks for the update. It's amazing that his little personality is coming out already, and you can see his likes and dislikes.
I remember the eye patch with the sunglasses...it made me smile.

The diaper changing pictures are so cute! I am sure you will love having all those pictures of baby Carter :) It will be nice to be in the comfort of your own home, but I know it will be hard to leave him. You can visit every day though and hopefully he will be home before you know it. Love you!
