New Year's Eve and Day

We hosted New Year's Eve this (past) year. It was such fun to do. We cooked a turkey, and did a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with two of our couple friends. We did dinner and played games.
It was such a small relaxed get together, yet full of fun with 6 adults and 6 kids!!

New Years Day was filled with taking down Christmas, eating yummy leftovers, and relaxing in pj's all day! Perfection in my eyes!!

Here's to an amazing 2014, I can feel it!!!

More of a 'See ya later' type weekend

The last Sunday in December, we ventured to Utah for Aunt Janet and Uncle Kent's mission farewell.
It was a fantastic weekend, full of family-family that I haven't seen for YEARS!! I loved every minute of it. The farewell it's self was amazing, Aunt Janet's' talk was truly inspirational. She spoke of having faith, faith during good and bad times, faith during trials and faith during celebration. She spoke about Mike and I, and although I would NEVER classify ourselves as these people with amazing personal faith, it was so nice and wonderful of her to think of us that way.

Saying goodbye was the hardest part. Janet and Kent have been like grandparents to me, and I will miss them so so so much. I know that they will be amazing missionaries to the people of Fiji, and will do great things for the next 18 months!

Love you both so much, and instead of goodbye, I will just say a " see ya later"!

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, we were so blessed and spoiled.
We started the morning off with presents at our house. T received a play mat, some pj's, books, movies, his traditional ornament(Jake and the Never-land Pirates), some Mickey Mouse button covers, and socks.

Mike and I were also spoiled this year. Top gifts are: camp chef stove, dutch ovens, Tim McGraw cologne, choc covered raisins, a years worth of date nights, boots, sequence game, and scrapbook punch. We are so blessed to have such amazing family in our lives.

After gifts we headed over for traditional Aeblaskibers breakfast with Mikes family. Following we opened more presents(see above) and hung out for the morning watching 17 Miracles.
The afternoon was spent with my family doing gifts(see above), taking naps, eating traditional prime rib dinner, and playing the new game they got for Christmas, headbandz.....such a fun game!

It was a fantastic Christmas day, and when all was said and done it was nice to sit back at reflect upon the true meaning of the season. We are so blessed to have the true gospel in our lives, and to be able to feel the saviors love and atoning sacrifice. I am extremely grateful for the gospel and for my Brother Jesus Christ, and his gospel in my life. His words are true, and his gospel is spreading across the world, to this I know to be true. What a great day it was, and a very Merry Christmas!

Traditional Christmas Eve

This years Christmas eve was like it has been the past several years. But never-the-less, it is always a blast. Mike was off Christmas eve this year so we were able to spend the entire day together, and get a few last minute projects and things together. That night, we were able to go out to Grandma Jorgensen's  house for dinner and presents with Mikes family. It was lots of fun, and it was really fun to see some family members that we don't see hardly ever. After dinner and gifts we headed over to my parents house for our traditional Christmas movie and jammies! Christmas eve jammies are one of my favorite Christmas traditions!!!

The nativity

With the passing of my grandma Jex this past fall, her house is being cleaned out to sell. Grandma collected Nativities and she had enough to give each child 1-3 nativities AND enough to give each one of her 26 grand-kids a nativity! At our family party all of the nativities were wrapped up and all grand-kid was able to draw a number, that was labeled to a nativity package. This is the beautiful nativity that I drew. I love that I am able to have a piece of something she loved in my Christmas decor. Priceless.

A Weekend of Christmas Parties

The weekend before Christmas we has three family parties to attend.
The first was actually a brother/sister dinner that my moms siblings do every year. But since T, Morgan, and myself were ridding to UT with my parents for the weekend, we got to attend.

We went to a restaurant in Ogden canyon called the Timber-mine. It was a neat atmosphere, decorated in a mine theme. Since it was the holiday season, they were also decorated in Christmas attire, including a life-size Santa. T wasn't so sure about Santa.....and kept eying him.

The following day we attended the Jex family party. It's always fun to see to family that you don't see very often. My mom was in charge this year and we did an ugly sweater theme, which was so funny to see what sweaters people found to wear. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, and this was the only picture I captured with my phone....T was so tired and fell asleep in my arms, which is normally fine but not when I had to stand the entire time he slept. 24 pounds gets heavy quickly!

The third party was my parents annual family party. Each holiday they plan a dinner and then we play games...with prizes! Its always a lot of fun, and we laugh our heads off. This year we ate stir fry, and then played Pit-both big family favorites! I came in 3rd and Mike came in 4th place.
