After we opened gifts at our house we headed to Mike's parents for the traditional Aebleskivers breakfast, and then gifts.

After that we headed to the Jex's for more gifts, some Just Dance and dinner.

Trenton isn't sure about dads camo jacket....
one seriously happy boy!

Megan received: food storage and shelves, sewing cutting table, entry way table, purse, tech gloves, 'Our Best bites' cook book, etc.

Mike received: hunting gear, tool box, st. Louis stuff, bullets, etc.

Trenton received: a blanket, sentsy animal, toys, books, clothes, etc.

It was a fantastic Christmas for us!

Christmas Eve 2012

Christmas Eve 2012.

This year for Christmas Eve we were with the Jorgensen's.
We attended a party that Mike's parents hosted.

Trenton was quite the life of the party! Since he was the only child under 20, all the attention was on him! And boy oh boy does he enjoy that.
Trenton with Papa, Aunt Whitney, & Aunt Kerry.
We ate some yummy french dip sandwiches, and lots of great sides and dessert.
We played Bingo, and then got to open a few gifts from Grandma J, Aunt Kerry, & Aunt Kay.

Grandma was so excited about her glow-in-the-dark bracelets, she never had seen anything like it and did not let the out of her sight. So funny, and so cute!

After the fun and games we headed over to the Jex house to watch 'The Christmas Story'. It is a tradition that we watch it every Christmas eve.

After the movie it was time to head home and get to sleep so that Santa could come.

Christmas Tree Pictures

On the Sunday before Christmas we tried to take our annual family Christmas tree picture...
It was pretty much a FAIL. Trenton was NOT having it. Oh well, I guess you win some, you lose some. And now we have the memories and these pictures to add to our collection!

Eight Months

12/23/12
Where has time gone??? On December 23rd Trenton turned 8 months old! This month has brought on a lot for him! I can't believe that in less than 4 months we will have a one year old!! You read that right, a ONE year old! That is insane!

Trenton is really starting to become a little fella, and has this little personality to match. We love watching to learn how to do things on his own, and watch his mind learn and process this world!

Jex Family Christmas Party

The annual Jex family Christmas party this year was on December 22nd.
It was held at Uncle Kent & Aunt Terri's new home that they just build up in Heber Utah.
Trenton and I drove down with my family Saturday morning. Mike had to work...of course, grrr retail in the month of December.

The party was a blast!!! I was able to see so many cousins that I have not seen for year! One of my cousins I had not seen since we lived in Nebraska! We moved away from NE when I was in 4th grade! That was like 15ish years ago! WOW!

We enjoyed a delicious buffet of soups, breads, side dishes, and desserts. We played games, talked, played games, chatted some more, and really just had a great time.

I was able to see so many of my cousins children that I have never met, or have only see just a few times. I love seeing family members! I especially love seeing my grandma Jex!!! This was the second time in December that Trenton and I were able to see grandma, and it was fantastic!

Mountain River Ranch

December 20, 2012
This year for Christmas our group of friends decided no not buy gifts for each other, but rather go on an 'adults only' couples date. We wanted to do something fun and festive.

So on December 20, 12 we all headed up to Mountain River Ranch. It's a ranch up in the mountains here in Idaho. It's an actual working ranch, but they also specialize in dinner and a performance. During the Christmas season they do slay rides up to the lodge, it's slightly magical.

There wasn't enough snow to do slay rides up to the lodge, but we did get to be pulled in a wagon by horses. It was a FREEZING night, but we had a ton of fun! Once in the lodge we had a little pre dinner entertainment preformed by family members of the owners of the ranch. We chatted and then ate dinner, it was great food! The cheesecake for dessert was DEVINE!

Then it was time for the performance. The group consists of four men who all are Idaho falls community members. They sang, acted, and really entertained us! They were great!!!
I think it's safe to say that we all enjoyed ourselves during the evening, especially since we didn't have to fight our kids during the evening.

Mike and I would like to go back with Trenton and our families...maybe next year!
