A Curve in the Road.

Today has been a long, hard day. It started out as just a normal Friday. I went to work, Trenton had PT, Mike went to work, nothing weird or unique.

Then the day took a turn in a direction that I had not seen coming. I put T down for a nap, he whined for a minute but then started to scream. I went into his room and he was stretch out and arching like he had been doing back at the beginning of summer. He was covered in sweat and inconsolable. I picked him up and noticed he wouldn't look at me.

I rocked him until he calmed down and lightly fell asleep. I put him back in his crib and he immediately started to scream again, I let him cry it out for a few more minutes, until I knew he would not calm down and go to sleep. I went back into his room and found him in the same position as before. I picked him up and took him out into the living room.

He would not calm 100% down and then I noticed he was shaky and his eyes were distant and twitching. I called our pediatrition who told us to call and get ahold of T's neurologist at PCMC, and then head to the ER. We got to the ER and were immediately taken right back, as they could see he was still in possible seizure like activity.

After some blood work, a bag of IV fluids, and 5.5 hours later it was concluded that T was having seizures and would need to be placed on seizure medication.

We had known since getting the neurological results back at the beginning of summer that the possibilities and chances of T having seizures would be something we would have to look at, at some point. Still actually having it confirmed was a different story.

We will get through this, and T will be OK. The quote above is true, God knows the bigger picture and everything WILL be OK! I know it, and believe it!

Girl, you are one of the strongest women I know. I can't even begin to imagine everything that you have gone through, yet you stay so positive! Such an inspiration :) and I'm sorry, I totally sucked at getting you that zucchini. Pregnancy brain totally got the best of me!
